Improving Playlist Curation
A major issue is the time suck of sifting through low quality playlists. We don’t need more playlists, we need a focus on quality.
RED FLAGS I see often on DailyPlaylist:
- more tracks than followers
- over 100 - 150 tracks on a playlist
- high followers counts with no streaming data
- “vibe match” could be cool, but the metrics (duration, bpm, modality) aren’t very good indicators for determining if a playlist matches a vibe.
- additional info section under playlist has a submit here or a website
There has to be a way to filter these playlist out before they get added to the catalog.

We’ve been working on that, and with the new Professional Plan, artists now have a smarter dashboard with detailed suggestions, better filters, match scoring, and full visibility into their submissions — all designed to encourage more intentional and quality-driven placements.
At the core, Daily Playlist is a marketplace: artists submit their music directly to independent curators. That means experiences can vary, but we’re constantly flagging and removing curators who misuse the system, and we’re actively working on new ways to surface the most reliable, high-performing playlists.
Your comments on things like bloated tracklists, inflated follower counts, and low-quality “vibe match” metrics are totally valid — and we’re looking into how we can build smarter filtering and quality controls going forward.
